Benji

The early sun is pouring through the blinds

Leaving all the quiet of the night behind

I'm just waiting for your footsteps in the hall

And that happy little laugh that beats it all

You run right in and climb up on the bed

Those morning cuddles rest my weary head

Oh, I love you to the moon and back again

Past the stars and the clouds and the whispering wind

With your funny little smile and your heart so true

Oh, Benji, there is no one else like you

Out of all the beautiful things I ever saw

It was a blessing just to be your grandma

You're so lovable in everything you do

There's a constant kind of sunshine surrounding you

Always keeping me smiling when you start to play

Chasing every single worry far away

I just sit back and watch you light up the room

Like a wildflower shaking off the gloom

Oh, I love you to the moon and back again

Past the stars and the clouds and the whispering wind

With your funny little smile and your heart so true

Oh, Benji, there is no one else like you

Out of all the beautiful things I ever saw

It was a blessing just to be your grandma

The years might fly and the seasons will turn

But this is a feeling that will always burn

No matter how big and how tall you might grow

There is one thing I always want you to know

That I love you to the moon and back again

Past the stars and the clouds and the whispering wind

With your funny little smile and your heart so true

Oh, Benji, there is no one else like you

Out of all the beautiful things I ever saw

It was a blessing, sweet boy, to be your grandma

Yeah, it was a blessing, Benji, to be your grandma
