Jessie, I look back upon the years when we were young

We were so close together when our story had begun

Nobody could come between the bond we used to share

If one of us was falling down, the other one was there

I look at you today and see the man you've come to be

Intelligent, creative, working hard for family

And a brother's born for hardship, to help you through the days

I pray the Lord will always be the center of our lives

The anchor of our sibling bond as time goes rushing by

So Jessie, I am here for you, whatever you go through

For you, your wife, and your five kids, my love is always true

No matter what the distance is, we're family together

With God right at the center, we will be that way forever

I know we’ve both grown older, building up our separate lives

Caught up in the schedules and the work that fills our time

Since Heaven called our mother home—the glue that held us tight—

It’s harder now to gather 'round the table in the light
