Christina

We've watched the years turn like a page in a book

Seeing the woman you are in every look

Patient and loving, with a happy smile

A thankful heart that goes the extra mile

You've always been helpful, a joy to be near

Christina, you've blossomed with every new year

Since the day you were born and took your first breath

The Lord has been with you for every single step

And as you go forward and build your own life

He'll be your lantern through the darkest of nights

When the day finally comes that we parents can't be there

God will be walking with you, Christina, we swear

I remember the classrooms on parent-teacher nights

Hearing glowing reports underneath the hall lights

They saw the same goodness that we've always known

A wonderful person, so beautifully grown

We watched from the bleachers, the proudest in the stands

Seeing you cheer and hearing you play in the band

Since the day you were born and took your first breath

The Lord has been with you for every single step

And as you go forward and build your own life

He'll be your lantern through the darkest of nights

When the day finally comes that we parents can't be there

God will be walking with you, Christina, we swear

It's hard for your parents to let go of your hand

But we know your life is in a much greater plan

We rest easy knowing His promise is true

The hands of the Savior are holding onto you

Since the day you were born and took your first breath

The Lord has been with you for every single step

And as you go forward and build your own life

He'll be your lantern through the darkest of nights

When the day finally comes that we parents can't be there

God will be walking with you, Christina, we swear

He'll always be walking with you, Christina, we swear
