Michael

You spent seven years in a quiet space

Holding on to memories of Terry's grace

I was looking at a screen one lonely night

And saw a kind man who carried the light

We met on Facebook, but the crazy part

Is we were living so close from the start

Right around the corner in the very same town

Heavenly Father sent an angel down

Michael, you're patient, loving, and strong

With a funny joke when the day goes wrong

I feel so safe when I'm in your arms

Sheltered away from the cold and the harms

You are loved so much more than you'll ever know

I'll spend the rest of my life telling you so

You didn't just give your heart to me alone

You embraced my family as your very own

Out in the yard with the tools and the wood

Helping my son build something good

You show your gentle spirit in the things you do

With steady hands and a heart so true

Michael, you're patient, loving, and strong

With a funny joke when the day goes wrong

I feel so safe when I'm in your arms

Sheltered away from the cold and the harms

You are loved so much more than you'll ever know

I'll spend the rest of my life telling you so

When the sun goes down and the day is through

My favorite time is just being with you

We bow our heads by the bed to pray

And thank the Lord for another day

I thank Him for the way our pathways crossed

And finding the love that we thought was lost

Michael, you're patient, loving, and strong

With a funny joke when the day goes wrong

I feel so safe when I'm in your arms

Sheltered away from the cold and the harms

You are loved so much more than you'll ever know

Thank God for the corner where our love could grow
