Through the trials and the fire, I kept walking in grace

After the pain of divorce, God prepared a new place

I held the keys to my own house, a foundation made new

Walked the stage in my cap and gown, not just once, but a few

Degree after degree, He was guiding my mind

Leaving the sorrow and the shadows behind
