Josh

Thirteen months of boiling water on a fish fryer to bathe

It was a hard-fought season, but look at what we made

Through the dust and the struggle, you were always right here

Showing up for me, making the shadows disappear

You never let the tough days drag our spirits down

You're the most reliable man I've ever found

Oh Josh, you're always joshing, making me smile

Making every heavy burden feel light for a while

And as we look to tomorrow, we know where we stand

We trust the Lord with all our heart, and hold onto His hand

We don't lean on our own understanding, we know His word is true

We acknowledge Him, and He directs the path for me and you

Now we're dancing to a country song on the kitchen floor

With the dogs getting underfoot, who could ask for more?

Or we're out by the water with a fishing line cast

Building up a quiet life that is destined to last

You never fail to be present, you're steady and clear

Whenever I reach out, you're already here

Oh Josh, you're always joshing, making me smile

Making every heavy burden feel light for a while

And as we look to tomorrow, we know where we stand

We trust the Lord with all our heart, and hold onto His hand

We don't lean on our own understanding, we know His word is true

We acknowledge Him, and He directs the path for me and you

From the hardest times we weathered to the blessings we see

Proverbs three, five and six is the anchor we need

We'll keep reading that scripture and following the light

Walking by faith, side by side through the night

Oh Josh, you're always joshing, making me smile

Making every heavy burden feel light for a while

And as we look to tomorrow, we know where we stand

We trust the Lord with all our heart, and hold onto His hand

We don't lean on our own understanding, we know His word is true

We acknowledge Him, and He directs the path for me and you
