Javeon

I still remember the day you arrived

The moment you opened your eyes, I came alive

I made up that sugar plum song just for you

Singing you to sleep while your spirit grew

We’d be out in the yard, tossing the ball around

Or down by the water, where that first fish was found

Every single day since the start of your life

Has been a gift to my heart, watching you shine so bright

Oh, Javeon, you are blessed and highly favored

Chosen by God, every step, every labor

With a pure heart of gold and a courageous soul

You’re a leader, a protector, taking control

The best big brother with a light so true

There is nothing in this world that you cannot do

Now I’m sitting in the bleachers, wiping tears from my face

At every single game and every track meet race

I just swell up with pride seeing the man that you are

The life of the party, a charismatic star

You’re handsome and witty, intelligent and sweet

Working so hard, never accepting defeat

With your loyalty and energy, you strive for the top

And I know with your strength, you are never gonna stop

Oh, Javeon, you are blessed and highly favored

Chosen by God, every step, every labor

With a pure heart of gold and a courageous soul

You’re a leader, a protector, taking control

The best big brother with a light so true

There is nothing in this world that you cannot do

So stand tall and firm on the morals you hold

Never back down, let your greatness unfold

Stay humble, be respectful, keep pushing through

Don’t you ever stop until your dreams come true

Believe in yourself like I believe in you now

You have the power to make it, and God showed you how

Oh, Javeon, you are blessed and highly favored

Chosen by God, every step, every labor

With a pure heart of gold and a courageous soul

You’re a leader, a protector, taking control

The best big brother with a light so true

My sweet sugar plum, I am so proud of you
