Scottie

We walked the same halls when our stories began

Just two younger souls who couldn't see the master plan

The seasons kept turning, the pages were flipped

But heaven was holding a beautiful script

We went our own ways, let the years tumble by

Underneath the same wide and merciful sky

Oh, Scottie, you love me with open arms

A shelter of peace keeping me from the harm

You lead with your heart, gentle and true

I thank the good Lord that He led me to you

Through every season and all that I'll be

Thank you for loving me unconditionally

You carry a light everywhere that you go

Making sure everybody is cared for and whole

A servant, a leader, so loving and kind

The rarest of spirits a person could find

You give and you give till the end of the day

And still have enough grace to send my way

Oh, Scottie, you love me with open arms

A shelter of peace keeping me from the harm

You lead with your heart, gentle and true

I thank the good Lord that He led me to you

Through every season and all that I'll be

Thank you for loving me unconditionally

It took us a journey to finally align

But I know that this timing is purely divine

We found one another much later in life

And suddenly all of the shadows grew bright

The waiting was long, but the blessing is real

You showed me how heaven on earth makes you feel

Oh, Scottie, you love me with open arms

A shelter of peace keeping me from the harm

You lead with your heart, gentle and true

I thank the good Lord that He led me to you

Through every season and all that I'll be

Thank you for loving me unconditionally

Yes, thank you for loving me unconditionally
