Bambanani

Morning light through little curtains, coffee cooling by the door

Names are written on the jackets, crayons mapping out the floor

You meet them at the doorway with a smile for every face

Through the tangled hair and tiny shoes, you make this room a place

When they stumble, you are steady, when they're quiet, you can hear

Every little fear becomes a brave step with your patience near

Bambanani, shine bright

You grow little dreams from the morning to the night

Bambanani, stand strong

You teach them how to love and they're singing right along

With every empathetic word and everything you do

Bambanani, we thank you, Bambanani, we see you

Finger paint on winter sweaters, glitter trailing on the chair

Counting jumps and sharing secrets, there is magic in the air

You teach please and thank you softly, how to wait and how to share

How to hold a friend when thunder breaks a heart and leaves it bare

When they fall, you lift them up, when they fear, you choose to stay

Little hearts are growing braver in your caring hands each day

Bambanani, shine bright

You grow little dreams from the morning to the night

Bambanani, stand strong

You teach them how to love and they're singing right along

With every empathetic word and everything you do

Bambanani, we thank you, Bambanani, we see you

Afternoon becomes a chorus, building blocks so tall and grand

You are shaping tiny leaders, learning how to hold a hand

For every patient whisper and every steady knee

You plant the seeds of confidence for all the world to see

You fold tomorrow gently in the quiet of their names

Guiding them to fly like little folded paper planes

Bambanani, shine bright

You grow little dreams from the morning to the night

Bambanani, stand strong

You teach them how to love and they're singing right along

This day belongs to you for all the miracles you do

Bambanani, we thank you, Bambanani, we see you
