Daddy

You have always been the steady ground

Whenever the heavy storms come around

Patient and kind, you take the time

To understand what is on my mind

You never waver, you're always right there

Holding my world in the palm of your care

You are my daddy, my backbone, my heart

You’ve been my safe place right from the start

Thank you for being my dad through it all

The hands that will hold me whenever I fall

I love you forever and ever, it's true

Thank you for being you

You bring the joy, you bring the fun

A loving light like the morning sun

A caring spirit, a gentle guide

With so much understanding inside

Whenever I need you, I don't have to guess

You answer my worries with comfort and rest

You are my daddy, my backbone, my heart

You’ve been my safe place right from the start

Thank you for being my dad through it all

The hands that will hold me whenever I fall

I love you forever and ever, it's true

Thank you for being you

I count my blessings for the love that you give

It is the foundation of the life that I live

Through every season, through every year

As long as I have you, the shadows all clear

You are the strength that I lean on today

Thank you for always just paving the way

Because you are my daddy, my backbone, my heart

You’ve been my safe place right from the start

Thank you for being my dad through it all

The hands that will hold me whenever I fall

I love you forever and ever, it's true

My daddy, my backbone, my heart... it's you
