Shiann

The moment I knew you were growing inside

My whole life changed, my eyes opened wide

I looked at a world that was heavy and cruel

And knew I must help you, make love be your rule

But as I held you close, the truth became clear

I was just the hands to hold you while you're here

Oh, Shiann, you were never truly mine

A beautiful soul by a heavenly design

The Father just lent you to me, my angel

To teach you His ways and to keep you so faithful

You're loving and loyal, your heart beats for Jesus

A gift from a Good, Good Father who sees us

You grew up so caring, trustworthy and true

I see the reflection of heaven in you

I guided your steps as you learned how to walk

And made sure His Word was the way you would talk

I'm giving you to Him, for it's where you belong

His love is the reason you're standing so strong

Oh, Shiann, you were never truly mine

A beautiful soul by a heavenly design

The Father just lent you to me, my angel

To teach you His ways and to keep you so faithful

You're loving and loyal, your heart beats for Jesus

A gift from a Good, Good Father who sees us

Remember the Sabbath, that sweet seventh day

Keep it holy when you bow down to pray

Serve the Lord with gladness in all that you do

And know that His mercy is waiting for you

In all of your ways, just acknowledge His name

And He will direct every path that you claim

Now He is calling, He wants you to come home

But you'll never walk through this journey alone

I'm giving you back to the hands of the Lord

The greatest protector, your shield and reward

Walk on the path that He laid out for you

My beautiful daughter, so steadfast and true

Oh, Shiann, you were never truly mine

A beautiful soul by a heavenly design

The Father just lent you to me, my angel

To teach you His ways and to keep you so faithful

You're loving and loyal, your heart beats for Jesus

A gift from a Good, Good Father who sees us

Yes, He is a Good, Good Father who leads us
