Eugene

I was a car hop down at Sonic, working on my feet

When the Lord brought a caring man right down my street

You made me laugh out loud, you showed a heart so true

A supportive kind of love I found right there in you

From that very first order, God had a perfect plan

To give my heart forever to this funny, gentle man

Oh Eugene, you're my honey sweetums, sent from up above

We're walking in the light of a tender, faithful love

You strum on the guitar, and I hold down the bass

Ministering in song, sharing His amazing grace

We take our trips to Branson, just to steal away

Finding quiet blessings at the ending of the day

Then we step out to minister, sharing the good Word

Lifting up our voices so the kingdom can be heard

Every chord we play together, every prayer we start

Just echoes the devotion that I carry in my heart

Oh Eugene, you're my honey sweetums, sent from up above

We're walking in the light of a tender, faithful love

You strum on the guitar, and I hold down the bass

Ministering in song, sharing His amazing grace

Side by side on the platform, hand in hand on the road

You're the one who helps me carry every heavy load

Through the laughter and the music, our spirits intertwine

I thank the Lord in heaven that He made you mine

Oh Eugene, you're my honey sweetums, sent from up above

We're walking in the light of a tender, faithful love

You strum on the guitar, and I hold down the bass

Ministering in song, sharing His amazing grace

Yes, we'll minister together, wrapped in His amazing grace
