Jamaya

The day you were born, the clouds rolled away

You became the sunshine of my life that day

A beautiful gift that the good Lord sent

A love so deep, completely heaven-sent

I looked in your eyes and my spirit knew

That God had a wonderful purpose for you

Oh, Jamaya, you’re so loving and kind

With a caring soul that is rare to find

Keep God first in everything you do

And His holy light will shine right through

Walk in your faith, stand tall and strong

No weapon formed against you shall prosper long

I watch how you move, you work so hard

Keeping your faith as your ultimate guard

My sweet granddaughter, you give so much

Blessing this life with a gentle touch

You put your whole heart into all that you try

And I’m just so proud, I look up at the sky

Oh, Jamaya, you’re so loving and kind

With a caring soul that is rare to find

Keep God first in everything you do

And His holy light will shine right through

Walk in your faith, stand tall and strong

No weapon formed against you shall prosper long

When the world gets heavy and the road gets rough

Remember His grace is always enough

Keep your head up, let your spirit soar

That’s what the Lord made Jamaya for

He is your shield, your shelter, your peace

With Him by your side, your blessings increase

Oh, Jamaya, you’re so loving and kind

With a caring soul that is rare to find

Keep God first in everything you do

And His holy light will shine right through

Walk in your faith, stand tall and strong

No weapon formed against you shall prosper long

No weapon formed against you will ever succeed

You are my sunshine, a blessing indeed
