Emily

With your backpack on, walking through those doors

Kindergarten's here, and the world is yours

You're growing up so beautiful and smart

With a funny little joke and a loving heart

I watch you learn and I watch you play

Getting a little bigger every single day

So keep shining bright, my sweet Emily

Trust in God and who you're meant to be

No matter where you go or what comes next

You are loved a bushel and a peck

And a hug around the neck

You took on a new role, gentle and sweet

Making this family feel so complete

The best big sister to little John John

A bond that will last as the years go on

You hold his hand and you show him the way

Guiding him with kindness every single day

So keep shining bright, my sweet Emily

Trust in God and who you're meant to be

No matter where you go or what comes next

You are loved a bushel and a peck

And a hug around the neck

You are funny and loving, beautiful and bright

You fill up our days with a golden light

Just hold onto faith as you reach for the sky

You've got a spirit that was made to fly

Keep shining bright, my sweet Emily

Trust in God and who you're meant to be

No matter where you go or what comes next

You are loved a bushel and a peck

Yeah, a bushel and a peck

And a hug around the neck
