Trenton

I still remember the very first time that you cried

The day you were born, and the tears that I couldn't hide

I held you so close, a promise right from the start

Trenton, you walked right in and anchored my heart

You're the best thing that I ever did in my life

Through the shadows and sunshine, the joy and the strife

I love you with all of my heart and my soul

Watching you grow was my favorite role

Trenton, I'm proud of the man you've become

My greatest blessing, my wonderful son

I still laugh at that video saved on my phone

You singing and dancing, in a world of your own

Riding shotgun with me, putting on a big show

Funny and hardheaded, always ready to go

You've always been stubborn, but loving and sweet

Making those memories there in the passenger seat

You're the best thing that I ever did in my life

Through the shadows and sunshine, the joy and the strife

I love you with all of my heart and my soul

Watching you grow was my favorite role

Trenton, I'm proud of the man you've become

My greatest blessing, my wonderful son

Now you're fiercely protective, so loyal and true

With a quiet respect in the things that you do

You traded the backseat to stand on your own

And I marvel at how much my little boy's grown

'Cause you're the best thing that I ever did in my life

Through the shadows and sunshine, the joy and the strife

I love you with all of my heart and my soul

Watching you grow was my favorite role

Trenton, I'm proud of the man you've become

My greatest blessing, my wonderful son
