Pooky

I still remember that coffee shop sign

I stole a kiss and I knew you were mine

Right there at Starbucks, the world faded out

I finally knew what love was about

Caught in the pull of your amber eyes

The sweetest hello and the greatest surprise

Oh Pooky, you promised me right from the start

With a smile on your face and your hand on my heart

"Life will never be boring with me," you said

And I play those words over inside my head

So loving and caring, so funny and true

I found my forever the day I found you

Look at the beautiful home that we made

Through every season, in sunlight and shade

Raising our kids with your gentle embrace

You bring such a warmth to this wonderful space

Dedicated to us, giving all that you have

You're my safe place to fall and my reason to laugh

Oh Pooky, you promised me right from the start

With a smile on your face and your hand on my heart

"Life will never be boring with me," you said

And I play those words over inside my head

So loving and caring, so funny and true

I found my forever the day I found you

We're dancing at Zumba, just missing a beat

Then watching a Hallmark film, cozy and sweet

You're my biggest supporter, my everyday spark

Lighting the way when the evening gets dark

Oh Pooky, you promised me right from the start

With a smile on your face and your hand on my heart

"Life will never be boring with me," you said

And I play those words over inside my head

So loving and caring, so funny and true

I found my forever the day I found you
