Dad

You walk in the faith of the Lord every day

Believing in what's right and leading the way

You put others first, you are steady and strong

Protecting this family where we all belong

You'd give up the shirt off your back for a friend

A hardworking father on whom we depend

You showed me that I can get through anything

Whatever the shadows or seasons may bring

You lift people up when they're lost in the cold

With a heart full of courage, a spirit of gold

I'll always love you, I want you to know

Forever my father, forever my hero

You were loving but stern when I needed a guide

Teaching me lessons with patience and pride

You taught me compassion, to help who I can

And you're sweet to my cat, such a soft-hearted man

But you know I will say what I just have to say

I'm a proud daddy's girl, I am built the same way

A fighter who faces whatever will come

Determined and brave till the battle is won

You taught me to stand, you taught me to try

And to hold my head up to the heavenly sky

You showed me that I can get through anything

Whatever the shadows or seasons may bring

You lift people up when they're lost in the cold

With a heart full of courage, a spirit of gold

I'll always love you, I want you to know

Forever my father, forever my hero
