Theresa

Back in nineteen seventy-six, beneath the southern skies

In Ozark, Alabama, I saw the kindness in your eyes

Theresa, you took my hand with a love so down to earth

You showed me what a caring heart is really worth

Beautiful and so respectful, with a spirit bright and true

I thank the Lord for every day He gives me here with you

Oh, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us

You taught me how to lean on Him, how to pray and trust

A mother's love so tender, a faith that never bends

Theresa, you're my guiding light until the very end

Through every trial and every test, we lift our eyes above

Wrapped in the Savior's mercy and a mother's holy love

I cherish all those Saturdays, the autumn air so sweet

Cheering at the Troy football games, jumping from our seats

Then spending the whole day together, just you and me

Walking through the shopping aisles, as happy as can be

Sitting at the table, sharing laughter over food

Your funny, special spirit always lifts my mood

Oh, we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us

You taught me how to lean on Him, how to pray and trust

A mother's love so tender, a faith that never bends

Theresa, you're my guiding light until the very end

Through every trial and every test, we lift our eyes above

Wrapped in the Savior's mercy and a mother's holy love

When Sunday morning rolls around, we walk through chapel doors

Singing hymns of gratitude, praising Christ the Lord

You stand beside me in the pew, a pillar of His grace

I see the light of Jesus shining right there on your face

'Cause we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us

You taught me how to lean on Him, how to pray and trust

A mother's love so tender, a faith that never bends

Theresa, you're my guiding light until the very end

Through every trial and every test, we lift our eyes above

Thank God for Ozark, Alabama, and my mother's love
