Stephanie

We were only five years old when it all began

Two little kids taking on the world, hand in hand

You were always sleeping over at my place

Watching scary movies with a blanket on your face

We'd be laughing all night, keeping up a riot

Till my mom came in the room and told us to be quiet

Oh Steph, you're the one who knows the real me

Funny and patient, as caring as can be

You see who I am, and you love me no matter what

Even when we stumbled, the door was never shut

We always found our way back, side by side

I can't believe how long you've been in my life

Looking back, we used to argue over guys

It seems so stupid now, I just have to roll my eyes

We'd get mad for a minute, then we'd let it all go

Going out to concerts, singing every song we know

You always had a joke to make the heavy things light

We always found our way back by the end of the night

Oh Steph, you're the one who knows the real me

Funny and patient, as caring as can be

You see who I am, and you love me no matter what

Even when we stumbled, the door was never shut

We always found our way back, side by side

I can't believe how long you've been in my life

Now you're having a precious baby girl of your own

Building up a family and a beautiful home

I just hope when she's older and looking for a friend

She finds a bond like ours that will hold till the end

'Cause Steph, you're the one who knows the real me

Funny and patient, as loving as can be

You see who I am, and you love me no matter what

Even when we stumbled, the door was never shut

We always found our way back, side by side

I'm so lucky you'll be forever in my life
