Jim

We started out as words upon a screen

With endless miles of highway in between

But you were never one to hesitate

You didn't want to leave it up to fate

You packed your bags and put the car in drive

To cross the country just to change my life

Oh Jim, you are the blessing that I prayed for

The loving man my heart was always made for

So loyal and so faithful, strong and true

I thank the Lord each morning just for you

For every self-sacrificing choice you make

I'll love you, Jim, with every breath I take

We don't need any grand or fancy plans

As long as I am holding onto your hands

Just spending time together is enough

Wrapped up in the quiet of your love

You always put my needs above your own

The most caring husband I have ever known

Oh Jim, you are the blessing that I prayed for

The loving man my heart was always made for

So loyal and so faithful, strong and true

I thank the Lord each morning just for you

For every self-sacrificing choice you make

I'll love you, Jim, with every breath I take

Who knew a little message in the dark

Would be the very thing to light a spark?

You traded in those miles for wedding rings

And showed me all the joy devotion brings

Oh Jim, you are the blessing that I prayed for

The loving man my heart was always made for

So loyal and so faithful, strong and true

I thank the Lord each morning just for you

For every self-sacrificing choice you make

I'll love you, Jim, with every breath I take
