I was wandering through a heavy, dark place

Caught in a battle inside of my mind

Mental illness felt like an endless space

Where any hope was so hard to find

But Jesus, You didn't leave me alone

You stepped in the shadows and called me Your own

For the Lord is close to the brokenhearted

You rescue those when their spirit is crushed

Right in the pain is where the healing started

You spoke to my storms and told them to hush

You changed my heart and You opened up my eyes

You brought the morning to my midnight skies

You were so patient when I couldn't see

Loving and generous, thoughtful and kind

You gently rebuilt what was broken in me

And left all the fear and the panic behind

Now I can feel it, the warmth of Your grace

Washing the sorrow right off of my face

Living a peace that I couldn't have dreamed

I found my Savior, and now I can say
