William

Back in nineteen seventy-nine

The Lord brought your heart to mine

A gentle spark, a faithful seed

You were the answer to my every need

William, when I look at you

I see the grace that pulled us through

There is nothing I wouldn't do for you

My life is fulfilled, my spirit renewed

The greatest husband, father, and grandfather I know

My love for you continues to grow

Through the sunshine and the rain

I’d choose you, William, all over again

Nineteen ninety-one, we made our vow

I still feel the blessing here and now

A sacred union, designed by God above

Built on devotion and His holy love

You stood by me when the winds were strong

With you is where my soul belongs

There is nothing I wouldn't do for you

My life is fulfilled, my spirit renewed

The greatest husband, father, and grandfather I know

My love for you continues to grow

Through the sunshine and the rain

I’d choose you, William, all over again

Forty-eight years, and it still shows

Just how deep this blessing goes

We made it through the heavy storms

Safe and sheltered in your arms

Because you are right by my side

The Lord has been our faithful guide

There is nothing I wouldn't do for you

My life is fulfilled, my spirit renewed

The greatest husband, father, and grandfather I know

My love for you continues to grow

Forty-eight years, our testimony is true

Thank God for a lifetime with you
