Linda

You and Dad worked so hard to make ends meet

Making sure us three kids had shoes on our feet

You could make a dollar stretch a country mile

And hide the heavy struggle right behind your smile

I still remember the magic on your plate

Frying up liver to taste like chicken fried steak

Oh, Linda, you're the anchor of this home

The most understanding mother I have ever known

You love Jesus with all of your heart, it's true

And you passed down the first scripture you ever knew

You showed me exactly what His grace means

When you taught me the words of John 3:16

I went through a season where I lost my way

A rebellious kid acting out every day

I gave you a million reasons to just let go

But you held on tighter than I'll ever know

You prayed me right through the shadows and the fights

And you loved me until I could see the light

Oh, Linda, you're the anchor of this home

The most understanding mother I have ever known

You love Jesus with all of your heart, it's true

And you passed down the first scripture you ever knew

You showed me exactly what His grace means

When you taught me the words of John 3:16

Through the lean years and the tears you had to cry

Your faith was a river that never ran dry

You showed me a love that forgives and redeems

By living out the promise of John 3:16

Oh, Linda, you're the anchor of this home

The most understanding mother I have ever known

You love Jesus with all of your heart, it's true

And you passed down the first scripture you ever knew

Yeah, you showed all three of us what His grace means

My beautiful mama and John 3:16
