Alvin

In the stillness of the evening, when the day is through

I find my quiet refuge sitting next to you

Alvin, you listen with a patient heart

Wise and understanding, right from the start

In these quiet moments, with the world outside

I see the Holy Spirit as your steady guide

You're a strong man of God, walking in the light

Leading our home with a faith so bright

Resting in the promise of Isaiah 54

No weapon formed against me shall prosper anymore

Through every single season, whatever we face

We are standing on His goodness and His grace

You always make me smile with the joy you bring

Even in the heavy days, your humor makes me sing

Then we sit and talk about how good the Lord has been

Counting every blessing, time and time again

Your gentle, funny spirit and your loving hand

Show me the beautiful life that He has planned

You're a strong man of God, walking in the light

Leading our home with a faith so bright

Resting in the promise of Isaiah 54

No weapon formed against me shall prosper anymore

Through every single season, whatever we face

We are standing on His goodness and His grace

When the shadows fall and the trials press

We find our shelter in His faithfulness

With you, my husband, praying by my side

There is nothing in this world that can turn the tide

We lift our hands together, we testify

To the Lord of all, who reigns on high

You're a strong man of God, walking in the light

Leading our home with a faith so bright

Resting in the promise of Isaiah 54

No weapon formed against me shall prosper anymore

Through every single season, whatever we face

Alvin, we are standing on His goodness and His grace
