Lemuel

Lemuel, my son, I watch how you love

With a welcoming heart that comes from above

You have a gift for the people you meet

Bringing a joy that is honest and sweet

You leave a bright smile on every face

Filling the room with the Father's grace

May you be blessed in the city, blessed in the field

May the favor of Heaven be your strength and your shield

Blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go

May the Lord's Spirit guide you, Lemuel, as you grow

You're the head, not the tail, walking high, not beneath

Held in the promise of the Father's peace

God gave you a spirit that draws people near

A warm, open presence that chases the fear

Whenever you listen, the shadows depart

You carry the joy of the Lord in your heart

Keep loving your neighbor, keep sharing the light

Walking in truth and doing what's right

May you be blessed in the city, blessed in the field

May the favor of Heaven be your strength and your shield

Blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go

May the Lord's Spirit guide you, Lemuel, as you grow

You're the head, not the tail, walking high, not beneath

Held in the promise of the Father's peace

Every word from the Scripture, the truths that we pray

Will cover your footsteps and open the way

The storehouse of Heaven is open to you

In all that you touch and in all that you do

May you be blessed in the city, blessed in the field

May the favor of Heaven be your strength and your shield

Blessed when you come in, and blessed when you go

May the Lord's Spirit guide you, Lemuel, as you grow

You're the head, not the tail, walking high, not beneath

Held in the promise of the Father's peace
