It started back in two thousand and eight

Two hearts entwined, just trusting in faith

Sixteen years of a beautiful ride

With you, my sweet husband, right by my side

Red, you have loved me with all that you are

Through every season, the bright and the dark

With God in the center, the rock where we stand

He lifted us up by the grace of His hand

I am so proud of the life that we've made

Walking in freedom, no longer afraid

Out of the ashes and into the rest

When twenty-twenty brought us to our knees

We made a choice to be finally free

We laid the addiction down at the cross

And found our redemption in all we had lost

Clean and sober, we stepped in the light

Held by the Father through all of the night
