Looking back and knowing you were always there.

Sitting next to Pawpaw before he passed away,

You held me in the sorrow of that fading day.

You stayed right beside me when the tears began to fall,

A brother and a shelter through it all.

He pulled you from the shadows, gave you promises to keep.

He brought you from the darkness and He healed your heavy heart,

And now your walk with God is a living work of art.

He turned your weeping into a joyful, grateful song,

And showed you exactly where you belong.
