David

We walked the same halls back in high school

Just a couple of kids passing by

I didn't know the plans the Lord was making

Or the way He was writing our lives

The pages kept turning, the seasons moved on

But heaven was guiding us where we belong

I loved you then, I love you today

I'll love you until the end of time

David, you're my heartbeat, my true love

A faithful protector I'm so glad is mine

Thank you for being my man of God

I'll walk by your side every step of the road

Two thousand fifteen, the timing was sweet

When God brought us back together on Gold Street

I looked in your eyes and I finally knew

The prayers of my heart were all pointing to you

By twenty-twenty, we stood side by side

I promised forever as your loving bride

I loved you then, I love you today

I'll love you until the end of time

David, you're my heartbeat, my true love

A faithful protector I'm so glad is mine

Thank you for being my man of God

I'll walk by your side every step of the road

You're always encouraging, steady and true

I feel so safe when I'm leaning on you

Thank you for loving and protecting us

In your quiet strength, I put all my trust

'Cause I loved you then, and I love you today

I'll love you until the end of time

David, you're my heartbeat, my true love

A faithful protector I'm so glad is mine

Thank you for being my man of God

I'll walk by your side every step of the road
