Red

He worked hard all week, then he'd crack a cold beer

A devoted Catholic with a charm that was clear

A bit of a ladies man, but a husband so true

There was nothing for his family that Red wouldn't do

He’d sit back and relax when the long day was done

Always ready with a joke, always bringing the fun

So here’s to the man with the quick comebacks

Watching the cars fly around the NASCAR tracks

The most perfect father, a caring Poppy too

I count my lucky stars that I was raised by you

Yeah, I love you and I miss you, but I’m smiling instead

'Cause I got to share my life with a hero named Red

I think about the camping trips, the fire burning bright

Just hanging out and talking deep into the night

Through every twist and turn, you always had my back

Keeping my wheels turning and keeping me on track

Every special moment, every conversation shared

Showed me just how much you loved and how much you cared

So here’s to the man with the quick comebacks

Watching the cars fly around the NASCAR tracks

The most perfect father, a caring Poppy too

I count my lucky stars that I was raised by you

Yeah, I love you and I miss you, but I’m smiling instead

'Cause I got to share my life with a hero named Red

You passed away a hero, with a faith that held strong

Now you're up in Heaven where the good ones belong

You taught me how to live, how to laugh, how to give

And I'll carry your memory as long as I live

So here’s to the man with the quick comebacks

Watching the cars fly around the NASCAR tracks

The most perfect father, a caring Poppy too

I count my lucky stars that I was raised by you

Yeah, I love you and I miss you, but I’m smiling instead

I am the luckiest to have a hero named Red
