Steven

Sitting out here on the porch with you

Talking for hours like we always do

I look at the man you've grown to be

And Steven, it brings such joy to me

You never hesitate to stop and care

A stranger's burden you help to bear

Always reaching out to someone in need

You follow exactly where kindness leads

Steven, you love with your whole heart wide

With nothing to hold back and nothing to hide

I'll never forget the day you received your freedom

And the beautiful future you started to see then

Your Mama loves you, through every open door

But our Lord Jesus loves you even more

You give everything that you've got to give

Showing the people around you how to live

I cherish the quiet moments we share

Just sitting together in the open air

You're the first one there when things go wrong

Helping the weary to feel like they're strong

You love with a passion that's pure and true

And I see His grace shining right out of you

Steven, you love with your whole heart wide

With nothing to hold back and nothing to hide

I'll never forget the day you received your freedom

And the beautiful future you started to see then

Your Mama loves you, through every open door

But our Lord Jesus loves you even more

There is no limit to a mother's care

I lift you up in my daily prayer

But the Maker of heaven, who knows your name

Loves you in ways that I can't explain

He guided your steps to the light of the sun

I'm so proud of my son, and the man you've become

Steven, you love with your whole heart wide

With nothing to hold back and nothing to hide

I'll never forget the day you received your freedom

And the beautiful future you started to see then

Your Mama loves you, through every open door

But our Lord Jesus loves you even more

Yes, your Mama loves you, through every open door

But our Lord Jesus loves you even more
