Shelby

I prayed for a light to find my way

When the skies were heavy and painted gray

After the heartbreak, after the tears

The year two thousand washed away my fears

I held my rainbow, perfectly new

Shelby, my answered prayer was you

Oh, Shelby, you’re my very best friend

A beautiful love that will never end

With the biggest heart I’ve ever seen

You are everything I hoped you'd be

And I know God looks down from above

Adoring you, wrapping you in His love

You always see the ones who need a hand

Spreading your kindness wherever you stand

Packing those blessing bags, giving your time

Leaving a trail of sweet hope behind

You’re so smart and funny, beautifully unique

A light in the dark for the people you meet

Oh, Shelby, you’re my very best friend

A beautiful love that will never end

With the biggest heart I’ve ever seen

You are everything I hoped you'd be

And I know God looks down from above

Adoring you, wrapping you in His love

After the sorrow, the joy that you brought

Taught me a lesson that couldn't be taught

You give to the world with a spirit so free

Pouring your soul in our community

From the day you were born until the very end

My daughter, my miracle, my closest friend

Oh, Shelby, you’re my very best friend

A beautiful love that will never end

With the biggest heart I’ve ever seen

You are everything I hoped you'd be

And I know God looks down from above

Adoring you, wrapping you in His love

Yes, God adores you, and I do too

My beautiful miracle, I love you
