Tonya

Since the very day that you were born

You’ve been my best friend through every storm

Beautiful outside and deep within

A kind of grace that only Heaven sends

You go out of your way to help the weak

And bring a sense of comfort when they speak

Oh Tonya, life has brought you heavy rain

But your steady faith has carried you through the pain

The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want

He leads you by the waters, gentle and calm

I’m so blessed to call you my sister today

Watching how He guides you every step of the way

Through all the endless laughing and the tears

We’ve shared together across the years

Every single moment lets me know

Just how much you love me, and it shows

You make the people round you feel so loved

A walking, breathing blessing from above

Oh Tonya, life has brought you heavy rain

But your steady faith has carried you through the pain

The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want

He leads you by the waters, gentle and calm

I’m so blessed to call you my sister today

Watching how He guides you every step of the way

Even in the valley of the shadow of death

You fear no evil, you catch your breath

He prepares a table, He restores your soul

Goodness and mercy will never let you go

Your cup runs over with a quiet grace

I see His presence shining on your face

Oh Tonya, life has brought you heavy rain

But your steady faith has carried you through the pain

The Lord is your shepherd, you shall not want

He leads you by the waters, gentle and calm

I’m so blessed to call you my sister today

My best friend forever, walking in His way
