Mara

Six years ago, I could never have guessed

With a beautiful daughter, I'd ever be blessed

My very firstborn, a light in the mist

You gave me a beautiful reason to exist

You are my sunshine, my love, and my heart

I loved you, sweet Mara, right from the start

Oh, Mara, you're beautiful, funny, and strong

We'll love you no matter what comes along

I know that the cards you were dealt weren't the best

But you are amazing through every test

If you ever need help, Momma and Dad will be there

You are our world, our answer to prayer

I remember the nights I was frozen with fear

Praying those seizures would just disappear

I was so terrified I'd lose you back then

But you fought through the dark and you came back again

You made it right through, you refused to give in

You showed me what true strength has always been

Oh, Mara, you're beautiful, funny, and strong

We'll love you no matter what comes along

I know that the cards you were dealt weren't the best

But you are amazing through every test

If you ever need help, Momma and Dad will be there

You are our world, our answer to prayer

You are so smart, you can do anything

Just put your mind to it, and see what life brings

You might need some help as you walk down the line

But we're holding your hand, and you're doing just fine

We're so glad that you're here, and we want you to know

We're keeping you forever, we're never letting go

Oh, Mara, you're beautiful, funny, and strong

We'll love you no matter what comes along

I know that the cards you were dealt weren't the best

But you are amazing through every test

If you ever need help, Momma and Dad will be right there

You are our world, our answer to prayer
