Dustin

We spent ten months just talking, walking side by side

I got to know the heart you have, with nothing left to hide

I watched you with your family, always answering the call

A steady kind of anchor, standing solid through it all

Dustin, you’re the patient one, the calm when life gets hard

You love and care for those you hold, you give them all your heart

I'm the lucky one who gets to hold a love so true

So thank you, darling, thank you, for just being you

We crossed that line in autumn, as the leaves began to fall

October twenty-sixth arrived and made sense of it all

Two thousand twenty-five became a year I won't forget

The day my closest friend became the greatest love I've met

Dustin, you’re the patient one, the calm when life gets hard

You love and care for those you hold, you give them all your heart

I'm the lucky one who gets to hold a love so true

So thank you, darling, thank you, for just being you

You never rush the moment, you always take your time

And every day I wake up, I'm so grateful that you're mine

It took a little waiting to see what we could be

But now I know your caring soul was meant to be with me

Oh, Dustin, you’re the patient one, the calm when life gets hard

You love and care for those you hold, you give them all your heart

I'm the lucky one who gets to hold a love so true

So thank you, darling, thank you, for just being you

Yeah, thank you, Dustin, thank you, for just being you
