Shug Knight

Ten years ago, we struck a match in the dark

Short-lived but beautiful, you left a mark

We had a connection that time couldn't erase

I always remembered the peace in your space

You were thoughtful and kind, even back at the start

Just waiting for the season to reclaim my heart

They say when you do right, baby, right will follow

You're my protector through the joy and the sorrow

The best thing that ever happened to my life

My one true soulmate, my provider, my light

It's Queen and Shug Knight, a love so deep

I am never leaving, this is forever to keep

August second, twenty-twenty-five

We made it official, brought the vision alive

You're so consistent, working hard every day

A true family man in every single way

I look at our son Toni, and my heart overflows

I love you and I thank you, and I need to let you know

They say when you do right, baby, right will follow

You're my protector through the joy and the sorrow

The best thing that ever happened to my life

My one true soulmate, my provider, my light

It's Queen and Shug Knight, a love so deep

I am never leaving, this is forever to keep

You are my healer, my Boaz, my rest

The strongest man I know, I am truly blessed

You are my strength when the world gets too heavy

Patient and loving, always holding me steady

Through every chapter, through whatever we weather

I'm gonna love you, Shug, now and forever

'Cause when you do right, baby, right will follow

You're my protector through the joy and the sorrow

The best thing that ever happened to my life

My one true soulmate, my provider, my light

It's Queen and Shug Knight, a love so deep

I am never leaving, this is forever to keep
