Ricky

Long nights in the shop, with the mud on the tires

Hearing the roar of the engine catch fire

Two years ago at the track, it was perfectly clear

Watching you chase what you love always draws me near

From sunrise to sunset, rolling through different states

I’m holding the cooler, just smiling and keeping the faith

Go slide some corners, go kick up the dust

Full throttle tonight, doing what you must

You make my heart race faster than a late model flying

On a dry-slick oval, oh, there's no denying

Through the green, the yellow, and the checkered flag

You're my favorite driver, on and off the track

Macy and Asher are calling your name

Blayne and little Hadley are doing the same

We love you and miss you when you're out on the run

But we're proud in your corner beneath the hot sun

Different tracks every weekend, but one thing is true

Of all the laps taken, my place is right beside you

Go slide some corners, go kick up the dust

Full throttle tonight, doing what you must

You make my heart race faster than a late model flying

On a dry-slick oval, oh, there's no denying

Through the green, the yellow, and the checkered flag

You're my favorite driver, on and off the track

Behind every dirt track king in the night

Is an exhausted wife who is holding on tight

I'll be up in the stands, cheering loud for your car

So run some safe laps, Ricky, no matter how far

Go slide some corners, go kick up the dust

Full throttle tonight, doing what you must

You make my heart race faster than a late model flying

On a dry-slick oval, oh, there's no denying

Through the green, the yellow, and the checkered flag

Bring my favorite driver safely back

You're my favorite driver, on and off the track
