AJ

I remember the day that you came to this earth

Fell in love with my grandson right at your birth

I wouldn't let your mother take you back home

I needed you with me, I made it my own

You lived with me first, yeah, we built up our ties

I saw the whole future right there in your eyes

I kept you right here, safe and sound in my arms

Praying God would protect you and keep you from harm

Athletic and smart, yeah, you're built for the run

Handsome and loving, my grandson, my sun

I pray Psalm 91 over all that you do

May the wings of the Lord be a refuge for you

He commands all His angels to guard where you stand

I'm so proud of the life that you hold in your hands

When you had to go live with your Auntie Marie

I was so devastated, it was heavy on me

But I knew you were headed somewhere positive

To a loving environment where you could live

She raised you right up as a child of her own

A foundation of love where you wouldn't be alone

And Jordan was smiling like no other

He finally got him a baby brother

Athletic and smart, yeah, you're built for the run

Handsome and loving, my grandson, my sun

I pray Psalm 91 over all that you do

May the wings of the Lord be a refuge for you

He commands all His angels to guard where you stand

I'm so proud of the life that you hold in your hands

I'm so proud of you, AJ, for how you adapted

You made the transition, you saw what was crafted

I wouldn't ask for a better life for you

Than the one with Marie and with Jordan too

I love you so much, yeah, you just don't even know

I'm speaking these blessings wherever you go

Athletic and smart, yeah, you're built for the run

Handsome and loving, my grandson, my sun

I pray Psalm 91 over all that you do

May the wings of the Lord be a refuge for you

He commands all His angels to guard where you stand

AJ, I love you, you're a beautiful man
