Jonathan

You are the only child I was given to hold

A beautiful story I've watched unfold

From your very first breath to the man that I see

You are a blessing poured out upon me

I look at the life you are building today

And I fold my hands, and I quietly pray

Oh Jonathan, I will always love you

A faithful spirit, so steady and true

I watch how you care for your family now

A wonderful father, you're showing them how

Through every season, whatever you do

Jonathan, I will always love you

I think of our travels down to Mexico

The sound of your laughter wherever we go

You carry a joke to lighten the days

But you work so hard in so many ways

With endless patience, you weather the storm

Keeping your loved ones sheltered and warm

Oh Jonathan, I will always love you

A faithful spirit, so steady and true

I watch how you care for your family now

A wonderful father, you're showing them how

Through every season, whatever you do

Jonathan, I will always love you

I thank the Lord for the man you've become

My only child, my remarkable son

Your faith is an anchor, your spirit is bright

You walk through this world and you carry the light

I am so proud of the path that you tread

And the grace that you show in the life you have led

Oh Jonathan, I will always love you

A faithful spirit, so steady and true

I watch how you care for your family now

A wonderful father, you're showing them how

Through every season, whatever you do

Jonathan, I will always love you

Forever and always, I will love you
