DAVID

I was pouring coffee, working on my feet

Just a waitress in a cafe on a busy street

Then you walked in, David, with that gentle smile

Made me want to sit and talk a little while

I saw your kindhearted nature right from the start

A quiet kind of steady that captured my heart

David, you're the strength that I lean upon

Faithful and wise from the dusk till the dawn

No matter the highway, no matter the odds

We seek first the Kingdom of God

Hand in hand, looking up above

Riding through this life wrapped in your love

We traded in the cafe for the highway wind

Fired up the motorcycle, let the ride begin

Rumbling up to Sturgis in the summer sun

Making lifetime memories on that bike run

From the beauty of Yellowstone crossing state lines

With my arms wrapped around you, the whole world shines

David, you're the strength that I lean upon

Faithful and wise from the dusk till the dawn

No matter the highway, no matter the odds

We seek first the Kingdom of God

Hand in hand, looking up above

Riding through this life wrapped in your love

You steer us through the valleys, you lead us to the peaks

With a gentle kind of spirit in the words you speak

It’s not just the scenery or the states we've been

It’s the holy light we carry deep within

David, you're the strength that I lean upon

Faithful and wise from the dusk till the dawn

No matter the highway, no matter the odds

We seek first the Kingdom of God

Hand in hand, looking up above

Riding through this life wrapped in your love
