Michael

You learned it all out on the farm, working with your hands

A jack of all trades, a clever mind, just making your own plans

You’re finally retired now, laughing loud and living free

But for twenty-five years, Michael, you’ve been taking care of me

When we met you didn't know a thing about my epilepsy

But you stood right by my side, yeah, you became my remedy

Michael, you’re my rock, Michael, you’re my remedy

Since that Valentine's Day we said "I do," you're everything to me

You’ve been my steady shelter when the skies were turning gray

Now I need you to be strong for us, and let me lead the way

Please take care of yourself right now, like you took care of me

Every single day is special, working side by side

With three cats and a dog, our babies and our pride

When something's feeling heavy, Junior's on your lap

That little black cat purring, filling up the gap

And when your body's hurting, Tee is who you go to see

That Boxer-Lab loves the river, running wild and free

But when you need some comfort, he's right where he should be

Michael, you’re my rock, Michael, you’re my remedy

Since that Valentine's Day we said "I do," you're everything to me

You’ve been my steady shelter when the skies were turning gray

Now I need you to be strong for us, and let me lead the way

Please take care of yourself right now, like you took care of me

I know you're feeling frightened of what the doctor's gonna say

I know your daddy fought those battles, but we can't look away

It’s time to check your heart, it’s time to check your lungs

You spent your whole life fixing things, now this is what needs done

Please go and get the help you need, don't let the worry win

I want so many more tomorrows before the sun goes in

'Cause Michael, you’re my rock, Michael, you’re my remedy

Since that Valentine's Day we said "I do," you're everything to me

You’ve been my steady shelter when the skies were turning gray

Now I need you to be strong for us, and let me lead the way

Yeah, I need you to be strong for us, like you've always been for me

I will always love you, Michael, you're my rock and remedy
