Candy

Sitting side by side on a Sunday morning

Singing out a hymn in the church with you

We can spend the whole day just talking and laughing

Finding the joy in everything we do

Candy, I cherish the time that we spend

My beautiful daughter, my lifelong friend

You've got a heart that loves Jesus

And a soul that gives all it can give

Watching you love on your kids and your grandkids

Is the most beautiful way you could live

I love you so much, sweet Candy

It's a truth that I'll never disguise

No matter how much time goes by

You're always number one in my eyes

You'd reach out a hand to help anybody

Always giving so much of yourself away

You carry a faith that is quiet and steady

Guiding your steps through the everyday

I look at the woman you've grown up to be

And I thank the good Lord that He gave you to me

You've got a heart that loves Jesus

And a soul that gives all it can give

Watching you love on your kids and your grandkids

Is the most beautiful way you could live

I love you so much, sweet Candy

It's a truth that I'll never disguise

No matter how much time goes by

You're always number one in my eyes

You mean everything to me, and I want you to know

That my pride only grows as the seasons go

Every laugh that we share, every song that we sing

Daughter, to me, you mean everything

'Cause you've got a heart that loves Jesus

And a soul that gives all it can give

Watching you love on your kids and your grandkids

Is the most beautiful way you could live

I love you so much, sweet Candy

It's a truth that I'll never disguise

No matter how much time goes by

You're always number one in my eyes
