Rhonda

When the heavy world is pressing down on my mind

I know exactly where I need to go

We sit and we talk, leaving worries behind

Rhonda, you’re the brightest light I know

You bring the laughter when my spirit is low

You crack a joke and suddenly I'm free

Oh, you are a shield when the storm rolls in

You are the joy when the morning begins

Fierce and protective, you stand by my side

With words that encourage and arms open wide

Lord knows the blessing He sent down to me

I love being your friend, it's exactly where I want to be

We can spend the whole day just sharing our souls

You speak the truth and you lift up my head

Watching my back everywhere that I go

I carry the beautiful things that you've said

Nobody guards me the way that you do

I've got a champion, a shelter in you

Oh, you are a shield when the storm rolls in

You are the joy when the morning begins

Fierce and protective, you stand by my side

With words that encourage and arms open wide

Lord knows the blessing He sent down to me

I love being your friend, it's exactly where I want to be

I count my blessings, I sing them out loud!

You make me laugh till I’m crying out tears

You keep me safe and you make me so proud

I'm thanking heaven for all of these years

There is a grace in the time that we spend

Oh, what a gift just to call you my friend!

Oh, you are a shield when the storm rolls in

You are the joy when the morning begins

Fierce and protective, you stand by my side

With words that encourage and arms open wide

Lord knows the blessing He sent down to me

Rhonda, I love being your friend, it's exactly where I want to be
