Ashlyn

I look at you, Ashlyn, and see a beautiful light

A spirit so wise, making everything bright

I remember us singing, just dancing across the floor

Laughing so hard till we couldn't take no more

From the little girl I held to the woman I see

You are a living testimony, a blessing to me

Oh, Ashlyn, you’re a gift from up above

Wrapped in His grace and covered in my love

Hear your Mother Queena when I testify to you

I am so proud of everything you do

I loved you then, I love you now, and forever

Nothing can break what ties us together

Now you’re a mother, a sister, and a loving wife

A motivated professional, building up a righteous life

You’re fiercely protective, with a patience that runs deep

Guarding our family, a promise you keep

Whether sharing a seafood feast or a quiet prayer

I look across the table and thank God you are there

Oh, Ashlyn, you’re a gift from up above

Wrapped in His grace and covered in my love

Hear your Mother Queena when I testify to you

I am so proud of everything you do

I loved you then, I love you now, and forever

Nothing can break what ties us together

You carry your roles but you make them look light

Your wonderful humor chases away the night

God gave me a daughter with a heart of pure gold

A story of strength that will always be told

Keep shining your spirit, keep standing so tall

My beautiful Ashlyn, you balance it all

Oh, Ashlyn, you’re a gift from up above

Wrapped in His grace and covered in my love

Hear your Mother Queena when I testify to you

I am so proud of everything you do

I loved you then, I love you now, and forever

Nothing can break what ties us together

Now and forever, Ashlyn, Amen!
