Amanda

Yeah, let me take it back to the very start

The exact moment that you came and stilled my heart

My first granddaughter, a blessing from above

I looked into your eyes and met my first little love

You changed my whole world with a single smile

Made every single step of the journey worthwhile

I hold the memories close, never let 'em fade

Look at the beautiful person that you became, Amanda

Amanda, you're so wise, you're so funny, you shine

A beautiful spirit, I'm so proud that you're mine

My first little love, yeah, you ignited the spark

The very first one to ever still my heart

Keep holding your head up, keep standing so tall

I'll be right in your corner, catching you if you fall

I picture you out on the field, stepping to the beat

The rhythm of the drumline, the movement of your feet

Watching you in the band, yeah, spinning that flag

Seeing you perform is my favorite reason to brag

Colors in the wind, catching the stadium lights

You always bring the joy, making the heavy days bright

From a little girl growing to a woman so smart

You're the very first one who took a piece of my heart

Amanda, you're so wise, you're so funny, you shine

A beautiful spirit, I'm so proud that you're mine

My first little love, yeah, you ignited the spark

The very first one to ever still my heart

Keep holding your head up, keep standing so tall

I'll be right in your corner, catching you if you fall

Sometimes I just sit back and watch how you've grown

The funniest, wisest young woman I've known

You carry a grace that is so hard to find

A beautiful face with a beautiful mind

Yeah, you're one of a kind

Amanda, you're so wise, you're so funny, you shine

A beautiful spirit, I'm so proud that you're mine

My first little love, yeah, you ignited the spark

The very first one to ever still my heart

Keep holding your head up, keep standing so tall

My first little love, I'll be here through it all
