Eight years ago the shadows fell

The night I said farewell to Mark

Asked You to show me through the pain

I didn't know how to remain

I had no idea how I could go on

But You met me right before the dawn

You said, "Be still and know that I am God"

When I was shattered, You were standing strong

You took my heavy heart and made it new

I found my hope, I found my life in You

Jesus, You're the light that leads me through

You guided me right to the Chapel doors

I walked inside and knew that I was Yours

The water washed the past away

Baptized into a brighter, brand new day

Now I'm a member of this family

Your endless grace has rescued me

You brought the laughter back into my soul

Your kindness held me close and made me whole

You said, "Be still and know that I am God"

I'm stepping forward, trusting in Your grace

I see Your mercy in this holy place
