Donnette

The Lord works in mysterious, beautiful ways

He brought you to my family in those early days

You adopted my heart and you opened your door

And gave me the mother I was praying for

You wrapped me in a love so patient and kind

Leaving the shadows and the worries behind

Donnette, you show Christ's love in all that you do

A God-driven spirit, so steady and true

Always up for a laugh, you made me your own

The warmest embrace that I've ever known

I just want to shout to the heavens above

I love you, Mom, thank you for your love

You carry the gospel wherever you go

Letting the grace of the Savior just flow

But you never forget how to smile and to play

Bringing your joy to the end of the day

When I stumble or fall, you are patient and sweet

With a hand full of mercy, you lift up my feet

Donnette, you show Christ's love in all that you do

A God-driven spirit, so steady and true

Always up for a laugh, you made me your own

The warmest embrace that I've ever known

I just want to shout to the heavens above

I love you, Mom, thank you for your love

Blood isn't the only thing making a tie

It's the grace of the Lord coming down from on high

We met through my family, then you became mine

A beautiful bond by a Maker divine

You look at the world and you give it your light

Guiding my steps through the darkest of nights

Donnette, you show Christ's love in all that you do

A God-driven spirit, so steady and true

Always up for a laugh, you made me your own

The warmest embrace that I've ever known

I just want to shout to the heavens above

I love you, Mom, thank you for your love

Yes, I love you, Mom, thank you for your love
