Clydette

There’s a quiet kind of grace in the way that she moves

Always making sure we have the things we need to use

Clydette has a spirit that is constantly giving

Showing everybody the true meaning of living

When the shadows grew long and the waters got deep

She was the shepherd watching over her sheep

She was the mother and the father, carrying the load

Guiding her children down a difficult road

Now the grandkids feel the warmth of her light

While she prays for our safety in the middle of the night

Oh, Clydette, you’re the rock where our family stands

Held by the love in your hardworking hands

I know that she worries when we’re out of her sight

Sending up prayers in the quiet of night

Wrapping her kids and her grandkids in love

Asking for grace from the heavens above

She never held back, she gave all that she had

Stepping right up to be mom and be dad

She was the mother and the father, carrying the load

Guiding her children down a difficult road

Now the grandkids feel the warmth of her light

While she prays for our safety in the middle of the night

Oh, Clydette, you’re the rock where our family stands

Held by the love in your hardworking hands

You wore both pairs of shoes, you walked double the miles

You traded your rest just to give us our smiles

For every sacrifice that you made on your own

We reap the blessings of the seeds you have sown

Lord, keep her safe, let her worries decrease

Fill up her caring soul with Your gentle peace

'Cause she was the mother and the father, carrying the load

Guiding her children down a difficult road

Now the grandkids feel the warmth of her light

While she prays for our safety in the middle of the night

Oh, Clydette, you’re the rock where our family stands

Held by the love in your hardworking hands

Yes, held by the grace in our mother's hands
