John

It ain’t about the years we’ve got under our belt

Or who’s been around since the cards were first dealt

It’s about the man who walked right through the door

And said, "I'm here for you," when I needed it more

John, you’ve got this happy, bright look in your eyes

Always quick with a joke, but still incredibly wise

'Cause when I stumble, your support lifts me up

You’re the steady hand when I'm down on my luck

Every wild adventure, every chance that we took

Is just another chapter in our friendship book

Through the highs and the lows, the clear and the gray

I'm glad you're the one walking with me today

I still crack a smile when I think 'bout that time

When neither of us had a reason or rhyme

Just staring at the thing, laughing out of our minds

The blind leading the blind, leaving logic behind

When we both can't find the button, try as we might

As long as we're joking, everything is alright

'Cause when I stumble, your support lifts me up

You’re the steady hand when I'm down on my luck

Every wild adventure, every chance that we took

Is just another chapter in our friendship book

Through the highs and the lows, the clear and the gray

I'm glad you're the one walking with me today

You bring the humor when the heavy times start

You bring the wisdom from a genuinely happy heart

It’s not about the longest time that two people spend

It’s about who shows up to be a real friend

And when I stumble, your support lifts me up

You’re the steady hand when I'm down on my luck

Every wild adventure, every chance that we took

Is just another chapter in our friendship book

Yeah, John, you walked in and you stood by my side

Here's to the next chapter, and a beautiful ride
