Chris

I was babysitting there, just passing the time

You were renting the room right above the garage

I didn't yet know of the Maker's design

Or the beautiful way He was moving our hearts

You were asked to a musical down at my church

Taking a seat as the music began

The Lord put an end to my wandering search

When He led me to such a remarkable man

Chris, you are the hands that provide all we need

A pillar of faith and the strength of our home

You support us with love in your every deed

Reflecting the grace that the Father has shown

I lift up my voice and I thank God above

For the gift of your steadfast and beautiful love

You stepped to my son and you asked for his blessing

You took him to pick out the engagement ring

It wasn't just me that your heart was addressing

You showed us what true, blended family could bring

You taught him what real, tender manhood could be

When you made a promise to him and to me

Chris, you are the hands that provide all we need

A pillar of faith and the strength of our home

You support us with love in your every deed

Reflecting the grace that the Father has shown

I lift up my voice and I thank God above

For the gift of your steadfast and beautiful love

For the long hours worked and the burdens you bear

For the quiet devotion you show every day

I love all you do, and I'm breathing a prayer

That the Lord will protect you and guide all your ways

You hold us together, you give us your best

In this life we are building, I'm endlessly blessed

Chris, you are the hands that provide all we need

A pillar of faith and the strength of our home

You support us with love in your every deed

Reflecting the grace that the Father has shown

I lift up my hands and I thank God above

For Chris, my provider, my earthly true love
