Thomas

We started out behind a glowing screen

Just typing words to see what this could mean

A digital connection, a leap of faith

Stepping out to meet you face to face

Thomas, you walked right into my life

And suddenly the future felt so bright

You are strong, you are helpful, your spirit is deep

You’re the comfort I hold, the promise I keep

And even when we don't see eye to eye

There is no one else I want by my side

You can be a little stubborn, right from the start

But Thomas, I love you with all of my heart

I still remember the magic of that night

Underneath the yellow fluorescent light

We didn't need a movie or a fancy view

Just a Walmart parking lot, me and you

You leaned right in for our very first kiss

And I knew right then I was made for this

You are strong, you are helpful, your spirit is deep

You’re the comfort I hold, the promise I keep

And even when we don't see eye to eye

There is no one else I want by my side

You can be a little stubborn, right from the start

But Thomas, I love you with all of my heart

I know you get a little bull-headed sometimes

You plant your feet and you draw your lines

But that stubborn streak is the reason you're strong

It’s the reason I know exactly where I belong

You care so much in everything you do

And I wouldn't trade a single part of you

You are strong, you are helpful, your spirit is deep

You’re the comfort I hold, the promise I keep

And even when we don't see eye to eye

There is no one else I want by my side

You can be a little stubborn, right from the start

But Thomas, I love you with all of my heart
